New Orleans death-thrash trio HERAKLEION comes to Chapel of Bones on their Fall Tourture ’26, bringing a sound rooted in the late ’80s collision of thrash and death metal. Drawing from the lineage of Voïvod, Pestilence and Morbid Angel, their 2024 release Necroverse was recorded entirely analog, live and without a click track, capturing the raw, unpolished attack the band has built its reputation around. Joining them is Raleigh’s DECEPTOR, fresh off the release of their debut full-length Reign of Terror through Dying Victims Productions. Formed in 2022, Deceptor pulls heavily from the 1988–1992 death/thrash underground, channeling the aggression of early Sepultura, Whiplash, Sacred Reich, Morbid Angel and Obituary without simply recreating it. Opening the night is Raleigh deathgrind veterans PATHOGENESIS. Active since 2011, the band combines death metal and grindcore and released their latest full-length, Terminal Burrowing, in 2024.
